I am a big fan of bribery.
Seriously.
I don’t mean the kind where you slip a police officer 20 bucks to get out of a ticket, I mean “bribing” myself to do something mundane by making it more fun or worthwhile.
I detest doing administrative tasks like paying household bills or filing so much, I used to let it pile up in what is known in my family as an “admin bag.” Since this was a disaster waiting to happen, I started to set aside Thursday nights as my admin night, and bribed myself to be über efficient so I could watch a chick flick before I was too tired.
Avoiding the dishes – another potential disaster. When solo-parenting for a six-month window, I bribed myself to the point of actually enjoying it when I coupled it with a glass of scrumptious red wine and listened to an online interview.
Now is the time to start spending your time and energy in ways that are meaningful to you, and have a little fun in the process. That is why I´ve created something special just for you.
My new podcast, The Expat Happy Hour, is dedicated to helping you adapt and succeed when living abroad and get you through ANY life transition.
The Expat Happy Hour is like having me by your side as your coach – right when you need it.
Listen when you are going to work, on a jog, waiting in the airport, too tired to read at night, doing the dishes, brushing your teeth, putting your makeup on, or just having coffee. Boom – you just made time for yourself. You just did something for YOU. You just invested in getting clear on how to solve your most sticky challenges related to an international life. Do this for you.
My gift to you are four episodes right off the bat, so you can get a taste of what you can expect when you listen.
- Episode one: The Expat Journey (It Is Harder Than You Thought.)
- Episode two: Being Happy and Successful in the Right Job
- Episode three: Celebrate You: Nobody Else Will Do It For You
- Episode four: Secret to Living a Happy Life Abroad
Or head over to the Expat Happy Hour on iTunes, subscribe to the show, and listen to the first episodes. After you listen, I would be bursting with appreciation if you left a review on iTunes so that more people can learn how to adapt and succeed abroad, and get through ANY life transition.
So, listen to or download the episodes, then get ready to see big positive changes in your life – no matter where you are.
Here is to more success, meaning and fun.
