When we pursue our individual interests while building a life abroad, it’s inevitable that those pesky little voices of guilt and self-judgement will crop up. False narratives about our selfishness and impending self-absorption can crowd our minds, until we’re thoroughly convinced that having our own thing will only lead to guilt, and that it will detract from our ability to show up in all of the other arenas of our lives. —Don’t believe what they’re telling you!— Contrary to what these voices want you to believe, having your own thing can help you to be a better person, parent, and spouse. This week, as I celebrate five years in business, I’m sharing lessons I’ve learned along the way that have shown just how false these guilt-provoking voices can be, and why having your own thing will push you to grow and bring out the best that you have to offer. If you want to explore this further, don’t miss my upcoming free training, where we’ll be talk about reconnecting with your better self!
