I had only lived abroad for nine months, when I made my first trip home to be in a friend’s wedding. And in those nine days, I ate twelve bagels! Food plays a key role in helping us establish our lives abroad, bridging our experience of our first home, as we create new ones. Today I am excited to bring on Mauro Clerici, who is a wholistic aromatherapist and certified integrative health coach, to speak with me about the role of food in the inner adaptation and inner lives of those of us who are globally mobile. Mauro became an expat in 1997 when he left Italy to travel, and his experience with food and diet over the years has been central to his life’s journey.
